Insulated Concrete Solutions of Kingston, Ontario supplied and installed a combination of 6" and 8" IntegraSpec® ICF walls for the exterior and select interior walls of the Conservatory Pond Retirement Home. Special EPS buck and header system only found with IntegraSpec® was used for all window and A/C openings and steel doors were preset into the wall before placing concrete. Due to the unique independent panel design exclusive to IntegraSpec®, an Exposed Concrete Face (ECF) wall for the elevator shafts using IntegraSpec® panels for one side only was constructed to provide increased fire ratings to meet higher fire code regulations.

Integraspec Gulfsouth of Fairhope, Alabama supplied and installed a very unique combination of IntegraSpec® brickledge, standard and corners panels with 6" spacers/webs to achieve this architecturally pleasing condominium. Not only were all of the exterior completed with IntegraSpec® but interior demising walls and garage pilasters were also completed using IntegraSpec® . The turrets were achieved by inverting the brickledge and combining with staggered straight panels. The balcony supports were also completed with IntegraSpec® scribed to a corbel shape, tension strapped to the exterior wall, then filled with concrete to create a monolithic and structurally superior building.

Mr. David Lindsey, BSci, BArch, NCARB, states “IntegraSpec® was the only ICF that was flexible enough to achieve the desired architectural design and details needed for this project”. The owners decided to use IntegraSpec® for the speed of construction, structural strength and cost saving when compared to conventional construction. This proved to be a wise decision after the devastating effects sustained by Hurricane Ivan in the coastal region of Orange County, Alabama. The Grande Caribbean withstood the powerful winds and flying debris with only minor damage to the turret roof.

Broome County, NY PHCC.... (Earth Preservers Award)
Award Ribbon Vesta Elks Club

This award was received for the use of IntegraSpec® ICF and the energy efficiency consuming approx. 1/3 less  energy than for conventional construction.  Using less energy for heating and cooling results in greatly reduced amounts of carbon and sulfur emissions which is this premise upon which the Broome County PHCC makes this annual award.
